FAROUKGATE:"WANTED".. Police Declare Farouk Lawan Wanted as he Shuns Invitation and Spends $620k Bribe Money

Authoritative information reaching NaijaPundit has it that Hon. Farouk Lawan, the pintsized legislator in the middle of the cash for clearance bribery scandal has refused to honor the invitation of the Nigerian Police to tell his own side of the saga because he has already spent the $620k he collected from Otedola.

Femi Otedola, the oil tycoon who blew the lid of Farouk's bribery scheme, had voluntarily gone to the police yesterday to state all he knew about the deal. After hearing from him, the police a invited Lawan.
However, Lawan has been balking at the invitation and has told people that he will not release the $620k because that is his only evidence. But those in the know have seen through his scheme. The real reason why Farouk does not want to honor the police invitation is because he can't produce the $620k which he has already spent and if he produces another $620k other than the original one he would have betrayed himself because the original $620k was marked.
Now in political confusion, Lawan has turned to Malam Elrufai to help spin a take that he is being set up because the government wants to discredit the fuel subsidy probe. Elrufai, who is himself was under trial for corruption charges had latched on to the now tainted fuel subsidy probe as a means of embarrassing the government. But Elrufai's job is proving difficult since Hon. Jagaba, the Chairman of the House Committee on the FCT to whom Farouk Lawan claimed he write a letter and tendered the $620k has denied ever receiving either money or a letter from lawan. Lawan also cannot tender any other $620k and since he has already spent the original $620k his confusion is causing him to seek out the administration's opponents for political cover.
